Apple have just announced that they have lowered the price of the 1GB iPod Shuffle (240 songs) to just £32, and have released a new 2GB iPod Shuffle (500 songs) for just £45. The iPod shuffle is a great way to carry around some of your select favourite songs, without breaking the bank. This week’s Single of the Week is “Split Lips” by Sons of Daughters. Sons of Daughters are a 4-piece rock band from Glasgow, and have released three albums on the Domino record label. The band started in 2001, and have toured with Morrissey and Franz Ferdinand. “Split Lips” is a slightly bitter track, but the female vocals and repetitive rhythm gives the song a folk-like feel. The band was conceived during Christmas 2005 when the trio decided to make a fake MySpace page for a fictional band. By autumn 2006 they had over 10,000 MySpace friends a deal with Merok, the label that launched Klaxons.
