This week’s Latino Single of the Week is “Mama Tierra” by B-Negão, Macaco & Nazão Zumbi. Macaco are a Barcelona-based band, with band members from all over the world. The band’s diversity give the band it’s electro accents of Latin music and rumba.
This week’s Discovery Download is “Entropy Reigns (In the Celestial City)” by Kelley Polar, from the Electronic music store. Kelley Polar made his first mark when he and some fellow performers from New York added live strings to the classic first album from Metro Area. This week’s Latino Single of the Week is “Mundos Diferentes” by Gabby Villanueva. Villaneuva had been a popular TV personality, but now she’s ready for her music career. The quartet known as I Nine from South Carolina first came to our attention when they were included on the soundtrack to Cameron Crowe’s film Elizabethtown. This week’s Latino Single of the Week is “The Sweetest Thing” by Santos De Los Angeles. Santos De Los Angeles was born in Mexico, but grew up in L.A. His music brings messages of love and peace amidst a killer groove that touches on reggae, R&B, and cumbia styles. “When the President Talks to God” is a protest song by Bright Eyes, with a very pointed political message directed towards George W. Bush and his policies. The song has been free on iTunes since December 19th 2006, but was only featured on the front page for a couple of hours.
